Terms of service
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of TableChime’s QR-based ordering service (the “Service”), operated by Mikail Rana (“TableChime,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
The Service
TableChime provides a customer-facing ordering interface accessible by scanning a QR code at participating venues. The Service is currently in private beta and may change, be unavailable, or be discontinued without notice.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that any information you provide is accurate.
Account and Identity
The Service may identify you by display name and phone number to support session continuity, tab resume, and card-on-file features. You agree not to impersonate any other person or provide false information.
Payments
Payment processing is provided by Square, Inc. (“Square”) through Square’s Web Payments SDK and related APIs. By submitting a payment through the Service, you authorize the venue’s Square account to charge your payment method for the order total plus any applicable taxes, fees, or tips.
TableChime does not collect, store, or transmit payment-card data. All card data is handled exclusively by Square’s PCI-compliant infrastructure. Disputes about specific charges should be addressed to the venue or your card issuer in the first instance.
Card on File
If you elect to save a card on file for a visit, you authorize subsequent orders within that visit to be charged to the saved card without re-entering payment details. The saved card reference persists only for the duration of the visit and is removed when the visit closes.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or any related systems.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
- Use automated means to access the Service except as expressly permitted.
- Submit orders you do not intend to pay for, or fraudulently dispute legitimate charges.
- Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm another person.
Venue Responsibility
The Service facilitates ordering and payment between you and the venue you are visiting. The venue is solely responsible for the items prepared and served, food safety, allergen information, accuracy of pricing, and resolution of order issues. TableChime does not prepare, sell, or deliver food or beverage.
Intellectual Property
TableChime and its content (excluding venue-supplied menu content and photography) are owned by TableChime and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the Service for personal, non-commercial use only.
Service Availability
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any defects will be corrected.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TableChime and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100) or (b) the amounts you have paid to TableChime in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold TableChime harmless from any claims, losses, damages, or liabilities (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. The provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
